End of one journey, beginning of the next...

Our dear Lee passed away yesterday morning at 11 AM. She was confined to bed only for her last 3-4 days and was gradually more comfortable. Most conversation had ceased (although she had a burst of energy on the day after Thanksgiving!) and she was moving inward, gathering strength for the journey to come. The day before her physical death, in one of her semi-lucid moments, she had told me "one more day, " and one more day it was. I climbed next to her in bed to rest yesterday morning, turned my head and she had just taken her last breath. I had already been talking to her, offering prayers and recitations from early that morning, knowing that, as usual, she would be right about the day of her transition. It was as peaceful as could be, and as time went on, she became more peaceful and beautiful with every passing moment.

As Forrest Gump would have said: "...and just like that, she was gone" and " that's all I have to say about that." (for now)

There will be ongoing postings from me about Lee's journey and plans for life celebrations, etc., but for now, I would like to thank all of you who knew Lee and were part of her life for what you did for her. Thank all of you for your cards, emails, text messages, prayers and other gifts of support. Thank you, thank you, thank you. May you have everlasting peace and happiness.

David

David,
I met LeeAnne up at Asilomar in April and we had some things in common and spoke at length about our spiritual places. She was a strong, beautiful woman and I was blessed to have known her. Thank you for letting us in on your lives.

Hi David,

Last year I lost my mom to polymyositis, she was also a beloved artist online (www.vickieenkoff.com), like your dear LeeAnne. I printed out all the kind words that came through the internet and across my blog when I posted about her death (http://melaniesage.blogspot.com/2007/08/vickie-enkoff-update.html) and all the messages brought us much comfort and love. I hope that all of these messages do the same for you. We were able to have a beautiful celebration of her life surrounded by art, I know her spirit was smiling.

You sound grounded and at peace with the next leg of the journey- many blessings to you and your family. Thank you for sharing your heart with us. Godspped to LeeAnne-

There have been many prayers and thoughts sent up for you and your family. My heart hurts for you all. I met LeeAnne last year in Portland, then we met up and followed each other down to Asilomar this past April, for a three day class with Misty. I was so impressed by LeeAnne's talent, what she created with her heart and hands, and her terrific personality! I am grateful to have seen her in October in Portland, she was smiling, even with all she had gone through. She is suffering no longer. We will miss her, but will never forget her.
There is a photo of her working on a beautiful collage in Misty's class, on my blog. That is how I will always remember her...doing what she loved.

David,How thoughtful of you to post about LeeAnne's journey. You and your family are in my prayers. This reminds of all of us how precious each moment with loved ones is. You are thought of by more people than you will ever realize and LeeAnne must be smiling now to see how many lives she touch, both directly and indirectly.

Blessings to you!
